We are raising funds to help lay my brother, Jontae Brandon Lee, to rest. These funds will help cover funeral and cremation expenses, and allow us to give Jontae the service he deserves while easing some of the financial burden our family is facing during this devastating time.

My brother, Jontae Lee, was only 26 years old when he went missing and was later found deceased on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, in a drainage ditch located across from the CarMax in Brooklyn Park, MN. This was a long few months after we last saw him walk out the door of our home the night of March 10th with someone he believed to be a friend. Later that night, police were contacted and informed that there had been an altercation where Jontae was potentially stabbed. He was last seen running into the drainage ditch area before disappearing.

From the very beginning, our family believed Jontae never made it past that small body of water, and we repeatedly asked the Brooklyn Park Police Department for it to be searched. We also worked with a nonprofit organization who indicated that their cadaver dogs could detect human remains even in submerged areas. Believing the area had already been thoroughly checked, our family continued searching on foot ourselves for months, hanging flyers, spreading awareness, and working alongside a private investigator until the BCA conducted their own search of the drainage ditch and found my brother.

We are still waiting for the official autopsy results. Due to the amount of time Jontae was missing before being found, we unfortunately will have to hold a closed-casket funeral.

Jontae was incredibly caring and intelligent. He lit up every room with his hilarious personality and a laugh that will ring in our ears forever. People knew him as someone who would do anything for the people he loved, he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was very close with his family and loved deeply by so many people.

My family and I miss my brother beyond words, and we will never stop fighting until Jontae receives the justice he deserves. Rest in peace, Jontae Brandon Lee. We will love you forever.

Any donations, prayers, or shares are deeply appreciated during this incredibly difficult time.
