To all who know and love Eric Lamar,
We regret to inform you all that Eric gained his angel wings on November 23rd, 2022 - one day before Thanksgiving.
Eric has long battled a number of chronic illnesses that had increasingly progressed this past year, and unfortunately was diagnosed with COVID during his last stay at the hospital. He succumbed to the illness 10 days into his diagnosis. He transitioned peacefully on Wednesday night at the hospital with his loving life partner Cynthia of 20+ years by his side.
To know Eric was to love Eric. He made everyone that he came across feel loved and cared for immediately. His friendly spirit and playful nature could only make one love him as much as he loved everyone. He had a passion for life, love, and the Oakland Raiders.
Although he lived a very happy yet short life, his spirit will be carried with us until we meet again in the next. Eric leaves behind many family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly. He will especially be missed by his grandchildren Kayla and Gavin Hachtel, their parents Mike and Wendy, who are Cynthia’s children, their dog Reggie, Cynthia’s daughter Lauren, and by the entire family. He will now be reunited with his buddy, his dog Little Al who waits for him in heaven.
Although he battled chronic illness for the last few years, his untimely demise was not expected this soon. We are all devastated by this loss and are not prepared for the high cost of funeral services. As he was not able to work due to his health conditions, he was not financially prepared either for the one-day inevitable.
We do want to give Eric the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory, and say our last goodbyes. Any donations will truly help during this extremely difficult time.
We will post updates in the coming days for those who would like to join us in celebrating the life that he lived. We thank you all so much in advance for your generous donations, thoughts, and prayers.
Rest in Peace Eric, we love you!
