Just when you think the world can't get darker, it does... In the midst of this pandemic, our dear friend Lauren lost her boyfriend of 8 years, Colin, on Tuesday, March 31st to a massive heart attack. Colin's passing is a sudden and devastating loss. He was loved by so many- his family, his friends, his coworkers, and Lauren.
Colin was born with a heart defect and previously underwent two valve replacements - the last one being very difficult. How would we describe Colin? It's a testament to Colin's character, that he, despite having a heart defect, was the man with the biggest heart of all. He was kind, gentle, so incredibly thoughtful and an amazing chef. He was always polite, funny, and friendly to anyone he met. He was everything to Lauren. Unfortunately these next couple months will be hard for Lauren.
Not only has she lost her beloved, but because of the Coronavirus pandemic and social distancing, she is not even able to have friends and family around her for support or even a hug. She will be navigating next steps and the financial burden is a concern. Colin lived with Lauren, and that void is something felt so immediately, but amplified due to the global pandemic and restrictions with social distancing.
Lauren is a member of the South Boston community; she is someone who always gives back, whether it's supporting her family, her friends, or her community. We now ask that we all come together to help her during these unprecedented times, as she faces the loss of the love of her life.
We are asking for your contribution (no amount is too small!), if you can, to help out Lauren as she navigates the next steps without Colin. This effort is to help relieve some of the financial stress she will be facing, so she may properly grieve Colin. We love you Lauren!
