REST IN PEACE BROTHER ABDOU NDAW FROM SENEGAL

We are deeply saddened to share the tragic passing of Abdou Ndaw, a 29 year old beloved community member from Senegal.
On Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, Abdou was involved in a severe car accident on Interstate 5 between Everett and Marysville. He was struck by a Marysville School Bus owned by the Marysville school district and was immediately transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, where he was receiving critical care at the Surgical and Intensive Care unit. Despite medical efforts, he was officially pronounced dead a few minutes ago.
Abdou had been living in Washington for about two and half years. He was a disciplined, humble, and hardworking young man employed at Amazon. He was one of the primary breadwinners for his family back home in Senegal, and his sudden passing is a devastating loss both here and abroad.
The Washington West African Center is organizing this fundraising effort with the full authorization and on behalf of the family. The family has expressed their wish to transport his body back to Senegal to give him a befitting Islamic burial.
The estimated cost for funeral arrangements, transportation, and family support ranges between $12,000 and $15,000.
During this blessed month of Ramadan, we humbly appeal to our community and all people of goodwill to support this effort. No amount is too small. Every donation will go directly toward funeral expenses and supporting his grieving family.
