On May 7th, 2017 my dad and our family were camping out at Lahontan. After a great weekend of spending time with his loved ones, come Saturday night my dad laid down next to the love of his life for the last time. Brian and his wife Katrice had such a short amount of time together, but it was the happiest he had ever been. Katrice made him a better man, and there is no one in this world he loved like he loved her.  He passed away doing what he loved most, camping, being out on his fishing boat with me and Katrice, and spending time with his big brother Alex. He passed away happy in his wife's arms. He was taken from the world too soon, and I want nothing more than for his wife to not be burdened by the process that comes after a death. My dad was loved by many, and he made a impression on everyone he ever met. For such a beautiful soul to be taken so early, is heartbreaking. All donations will go to aid Katrice Mathiesen in  cremation and other costs. Thank you for your help, I know my daddy  would be so happy to know people helped his wife in such a tragic time. He cared about the people in his life and he cherished every second. He learned the value of time and he lived every moment as if it were his last, until it ultimately was his last. He was the greatest man I've ever met, and I am thankful to have had him for a father. I am so grateful also, for my stepmom, Katrice, for completing him in all ways.
