Rest In Peace, Albus Dumbledog
Donation protected
It is with a very heavy heart that we let you know that we have lost a very integral part of Avalon's life and the River's Edge Antiques. Albus Dumbledog was recently diagnosed with a mass in his heart and it was quite advanced. At age 9, there were not many options available to save him and Avalon made the selfless decision to let him go when it became obvious that he was struggling.
She adopted him just 22 months ago and he became the love of her life. At the time of adoption, she was told that he was 4 years old so it was a shock to be told by her vet that he was closer to 8 at his first exam. When the shop opened for the 2020 season, Albus became our official "shop dog". He was at first a shy fellow but quickly became the shop greeter with a wagging tail and sweet disposition. Avalon would post a sign on the door when he was on site and many customers came to see Albus before they began their shopping.
We all looked forward to October as it was a special month because Avalon made sure that he had a different costume for every day of the month. He wore them without complaint.
We have set up this Go Fund Me account in the hopes of helping Avalon defray some of the veterinary costs she has accumulated over the last three weeks (ultrasounds, blood work, medications, etc..) Some of you may not realize that Avalon is self-employed. She is a harpist, an artist and also a wonderful photographer of special events. She is always willing to lend a hand where needed, is selfless and the very best kind of friend. Needless to say, the last year has been challenging for everyone and especially the self-employed.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Most of us know what it is like to lose a loved pet and while the loss is tragic in itself, sometimes the financial ramifications can be overwhelming as well.
Thank you.
