Early Tuesday morning on 4/2/19 another wonderful angel left this earth and ascended up into heaven. His family received a phone call that morning which shocked their world. Not one of them expected their father, Gil Hernandez would have passed on so soon. They suddenly lost a genuine, loving, caring man that morning who would easily give up his last dollar in his hand if you needed it. 

Those who knew him will know that he had the biggest heart and was all about his family, close friends, his dogs and of course baseball! He had so much love to give. His passion and drive inspired so many on and off the baseball field. He mentored so many young players over the years and is definitely a well known coach.

He was recovering from an above the knee amputation and had been preparing to participate in the VA Wheelchair Games of 2019.

He was always the first to help volunteer or donate to anyone's cause or fundraiser, no questions asked.

Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help....If you would like to donate to towards Gil’s service it would help the family out immensely. 
No amount of help is too small and sharing this is very much encouraged and appreciated.

He is now watching over his 3 children and 5 grandbabies with his wife Liz, mother Cecilia, father Manuel and his brother Joe by his side.

Rest in that beautiful baseball field paradise Gil!
