Mickey needs your help for treatment for FIP

When the words, “your kitten has FIP” are said…your heart drops. What it has often meant in the past is, “your kitten needs to be put to sleep”.

But not now. There is a new treatment available that shows such promise, that has such a good track record, that some day, the words “your kitten has FIP” will be concerning, but not heartbreaking.

Mickey has a chance to be one of those kittens that receives this life saving treatment. In fact…he’s already getting it. This treatment means daily injections for 84 days.

Currently, his medicine remains unapproved, not because it doesn’t work; but because the company that makes it is focusing on other medications for other illnesses as well. They don’t want advertising to be confused between the treatment they have discovered that helps kittens like Mickey, and medications currently being created for diseases in people.

That makes his medicine very expensive.

Mickey has owners that were able to sacrifice and scrape together the first payment on the $1,500 to $2,000 cost of his treatment. It was hard, but they’ve done it. Mickey’s next round of treatments are coming up soon, and the second and third installments will be due.

That’s where you come in.

Not everyone who loves their pet can afford to give their companion this life saving treatment. Some must make the devastating choice to euthanize their companion.

But every day that Mickey gets his treatment, every day he snoozes more comfortably in his cat bed or starts to play with toys, is a day closer to the time when all owners will have this option and the treatment will be affordable.
