VA Healthcare worker fighting Cancer

Ray a respected, loved colleague, and dedicated member of the VA Hospital Emergency is fighting cancer.

Ray is an Emergency Room Intermediate Care Technician at the Las Vegas, VA serving our nation's heroes. He recently moved from Florida VA to Las Vegas. Ray moved to Las Vegas for new experiences, as he has been in Florida his entire life. All of Ray's family and close friends are in Florida. Shortly after leaving Florida Ray was diagnosed with cancer requiring chemo and radiation. Ray is very private and proud. Not everyone at work knows what he is going through and he is not one to ask for help. What we can tell you about Ray is that he is kind, helpful, caring, and dedicated to serving our veterans. Even with all he is going through, he continues to show up to work caring for our veterans and being a source of strength for all around him. We all know it takes a village!!! We want Ray to know that he is NOT alone and he has so much support all around him, more than even he is aware of! Ray is experiencing trying times. Ray is in a single-income household so he is having to work while going through treatments. He needs to focus on wellness, not worries. We recently learned he is facing eviction. We would like to lessen Ray’s worry by raising money to help offset his rent, dietary supplements, and copays. He has worked tiredly through the covid pandemic often taking overtime to help his unit and care for patients. He continues to sacrifice much of his time and personal health to care for those who can’t care for themselves. It is time we care for Ray. Ray has permitted us to start this fundraiser to help him. It is not easy asking for help, but we all need it at some point in our lives. Let us pay it forward. We are grateful for whatever help you can offer our colleague and friend Ray.
