My name is Ahmed, and I live in the US. My friend Anas from Gaza is trying to raise money to help him and his family travel after he lost everything. Given the location and GoFundMe restrictions, I am stepping in to help launch this campaign. All donations will go directly to Anas and his family. Below is a letter written by Anas:

Hi everyone, I am Anas Mohammad, 20 years old, and I have a family of 6.

During the past 11 months, we have lost everything we own and our entire lives have changed upside down. We were displaced from our home in the northern Gaza Strip on 10/13/2023 and lived difficult days sleeping in the streets in the southern Gaza Strip. Then, a few days later, our home, in which my family and I lived, was completely destroyed, and all the beautiful memories with it were destroyed. After that, we lived very difficult days and are still moving to find a safe place to shelter us. We have been displaced 8 times and every time we miraculously escaped death due to the barbaric and random bombing!!

So in these difficult circumstances we are living in, my family and I have no choice but to leave Gaza. To live in safety and stability, provide the necessary treatment for my parents, provide a suitable environment for my little niece, and enable me to complete my education.

My family and I's house was turned into a pile of rubble at the beginning of the war (it was completely destroyed), the house that was the safe and stable place where we lived the best memories since childhood, and the occupation was not limited to our house only, but it destroyed the entire neighborhood.

Thus, the occupation is displacing us under bombing and threats :

Look, this is part of the suffering I am going through to complete the part of my education that is being destroyed.

Today, as I stand amidst the ruins of my past, I see a ray of light on the horizon. And this will be, thanks to your continued and generous support, to achieve the goal of this campaign, which is to rescue my family from this tragedy and rebuild my future, and also my dreams and the dreams of my family that were shattered by this war.

The cost of this campaign ranges between 6000 and 7000 dollars per person, and thanks to you and your support we will achieve the goal, to save me and my family from this fierce war.

These are the details of the campaign costs for me and my family and where the donations will go:

- $30,000 : Official and unofficial border crossing fees.

- $3,500 : Passport fees and procedures.

- $4,500 : Travel costs from Gaza to Egypt.

- $2,000 : GoFundMe and exchange office commission.
