Help Residance Find a New Studio

Hello!

Appreciate you taking the time to read our story (and even more so if you help us share it❤️) I'm Ivana, creator and co-founder of Residance. I've been obsessed with dancing my whole life, growing up watching Britney Spears and all the famous MTV music videos inspired my journey to create Residance. As much as I loved dancing, I was never really great at it, I wasn't able to take classes as a child and by the time I was an adult, I felt either judged because my skill level is nowhere near everyone else's in class or bored because all I could find for "beginners" were ballroom-type classes when I really wanted to be dancing hip-hop and doing routines that made me feel like the people on Youtube.

That's when I decided to start my own dance studio that focused on adults, a studio that doesn't make its students compete with each other and a studio that focused on having fun no matter how beginner or how experienced the dancer may be. I wanted to make sure every person felt like a star every time they took a class.

Three years since Residance started, we've become home for many. We have our K-Pop stars, our Hip-Hop stars, our Dance Fitness queens, our Lyrical and Contemporary crew, our Reggeaton gang and so much more. We truly feel like a community and I'm so proud of every person that has ever stepped foot in our studio because dancing in front of others takes a lot of guts! We wouldn't be where we are if it wasn't for our incredible instructors and students, seriously, if it wasn't for you it would be just me dancing in front of my mirror.

Because we are a small tiny business, we don't have access to the resources necessary to sign permanent leases so we've always had to compromise or get creative to be able to rent in locations that were safe and comfortable for our students. We signed a month-to-month deal with Bell Tower in exchange for affordable rent. Unfortunately, we've been asked to vacate by the first week of January 2023 to make room for a permanent tenant that's willing to pay 10 times more than our current lease.

We've essentially been left without a studio and given only a couple of weeks to leave during the holidays. It has been very difficult to find another location we can afford and there are lots of costs associated with moving, storing and outfitting a whole new place to feel like Residance.

So many of you have asked how you can help us. The best ways to help us are looking out for any places for lease between 1,200-2000 sqft in the Fort Myers area, sharing our story with all your family and friends and if it's in your possibilities contributing to this GoFundMe. These funds will assist us in helping to rebuild our studio with all the same amenities and to reach a long-term agreement to prevent a repeat of this relocation.
