Rescuing Robert

I have mentioned in previous posts of my friend, Robert L. Hale, who is battling the long term symptoms of Covid 19. Robert was admitted to the hospital on August 31, 2021 and has spent 5 very long months in the hospital in Northern Georgia. Covid has ravaged his lungs and the only diagnosis that doctors will give at this time is for Robert to undergo a double lung transplant.

Robert is currently in Emory Hospital in Atlanta awaiting a match for his lung transplant. The doctors are hopeful that the procedure will happen soon and Robert will be able to begin his recovery. The transplant recovery is a long process and requires an abundance of medications which are extremely expensive and will be necessary for the rest of Robert's life.

Robert will be required to stay 3 months in the metro Atlanta area while recuperating from this surgery. He will not be an in-house patient at Emory but rather will have to pay for lodging at a nearby rehab house which is not covered under insurance. He will be solely responsible for all his living expenses after the surgery. This is going to be extremely costly and he has not been able to work since August 31, 2021.
