First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this and to consider supporting this effort.  

I’m looking to fundraise to support my 14 yr old nephew, SHAY, get on a path toward college. Shay lives in the same small town in Northern Chile (Iquique) where I spent my teenage years. He lives with his father (my brother), my mother, and father in a small apartment. While they give Shay a lot of love, they are unfortunately not in a position to pay for his education. So Shay goes to public school, which in Chile- like some inner-city public schools in the US- don't inspire or encourage students to pursue a college education.

Ever since Shay was a baby I have felt a sense of responsibility for helping to raise Shay, in particular when it comes to his education.

I’m in the process of trying to help him transfer to an English-speaking, private school in Iquique named The Lirima School  (www.lirima.com)  where he can get the support and encouragement that will put him on a college path.  His dream is to study nanotechnology.

Today, more than ever, as he begins his teenage years, I KNOW this is a pivotal time for him to get the best education possible.  Only with your help can I make this possible.

The total amount I'm trying to raise is $12.086, which is the annual cost to study at The Lirima School
