Rescued Nurse From Submerged Car In Route To Work

Hi, my name is Ontavius. I am the oldest son of Tonya McCullough, the nurse who was rescued from her submerged car in Orlando, FL, while headed to work on September 29, 2022.

I’m filled with mixed emotions right now…

Last night we spoke on the phone, and she told me that her administrator said they would be terminated if they didn’t show up to work!

I told my mom many times over the phone that you couldn’t go out because of flooding and strong winds. The dedication to serving her residents, as always, like many other first responders, puts others first to ensure the best quality of life for others!

you can see my mom climbing the back of a man Tony Atkins Wesh2 who pulled her out of her car window. After she was taken to safety, she continued to walk about 2 miles to work!

It’s safe to say that my mother has no car because of engine flooding and is most likely stuck at her job for the next couple of days because there is no way for her to get home.

I’m filled with mixed emotions because my mom should have never been in a position to have to travel back and forth from home to get to work. There should’ve been a more efficient emergency response procedure in place where staff could stay inside the place of employment or just a better plan of action.

This car was essential to my mom attending to her residents. Currently, she is unemployed until she can replace her car. So I'm asking my friends and family if there is anything you can spare to help me reach this goal. Anything would help me right now to purchase a vehicle for my mother.
