HI, I go by the name Sid. This is cat mating season and a feral mumma cat Star has had a litter of 5 kittens in my back yard. My lovely neighbours Labonno and Manoj are avid animal lovers and have successfully caught Star and her 5 kittens. In spite of having 2 cats and a dog themselves they are currently fostering the mumma and her kittens, including making a dedicated space for them, buying a pen, blankets, wet and dry food, while also managing the vet bills that go with it.
While Manoj and I have full time employment (and mortgage payments), Labonno is currently on placement and has no income in sight until early next year. We have been putting in as much as we can afford.
I won't lie, we are in over our heads with these costs. The preliminary blood test, spaying, de-sexing, microchipping and vaccinations among other needs, amount to $4000 for all 6 cats.
Mumma cat Star is now suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea as well.
We have already reached out to a few friends who have pledged to adopt some of the kittens when they are ready.
The target amount for all 6 cats. With the current cost of living crisis even a couple of dollars would go a long way in allowing us to properly care for the beautiful creatures .
