Running a rescue is tough going. When we rescue animals, we never truly understanding the underlying health concerns they may present with. And this is the case with a sweetie-pie called Duchess. She looks Anatolian to us. She is only about 11 months old. These livestock guardian breeds can grow so quickly that, as in the case of Duchess, her bones ripped off the cartilage on her shoulder (humeral head). This floating piece of cartilage is causing our young baby girl to limp - already! In time, it will seriously impeded Duchess' mobility. It is a condition called Ostoechondritis. SIGH. The good news is there is surgery that can remove this cartilage; and give her the wonderfully active life she deserves. The bad news, is it costs some serious money, that we do not have. Ugh. We are asking our followers (and adopters) to please help us help Duchess. Surgery + meds: $3362.73. Our target is $3630.00 in order to be the fund raising services. Please help us by donating. We cannot continue the care animals deserve without support.
