HELP SAVE ZOEY!

Donation protected
Poor Zoey can't catch a break.

Just less than a week ago we rescued Zoey from behind a cage in a shelter, she was a stray puppy being nursed back to health from a skin-yeast infection due to neglect and malniroushment, she was missing so much fur and was way too small for an 8 month old German Shepherd, weighing approximetly 40 pounds. When we heard her story and looked into her eyes, we knew we had to get her out of there. She was doing so well in her foster home with our team member until Monday night. First she stopped eating, then she stopped drinking, she turned away from treats, refused to go outside, and stopped asking to go to the bathroom. Zoey's head hung off the couch lifelessly before she crawled into her crate and wouldn't come out. She looked so sad, her body was weak and hot and her breathing became forced, she didn't want to move.

We rushed Zoey to the vet, hoping for the best..but finding out the worst was heartbreaking. Vets let us know she had a  spiked fever of 105 while X-Rays of her chest confirmed a bronchopneumonia . While her heartworm test is negative, a positive diagnosis is not excluded because of something that was noticed in her X-Ray images. Zoey was pumped with her first dose of IV fluids and antiobitics, and is requested to be medically boarded in isolation for more rounds to avoid secondary conditions like hypoxemia or sepsis, this is already in adition to the round of prescribed medications she has been taking to cure her fungal infection and heal her skin. Now her new plan of care includes the new offset of aggravated brochopneumonia. While we fight for Zoey's life and are doing everything possible to ensure she's safe, comfortabe and receiving the best care to nurse her back to health, we are running low on funds. Her vet bill is at $560 after one night and will keep growing with every day she needs to be boarded and every medication that needs to be prescribed. EVERY CENT MAKES A DIFFERENCE, it is very costly to run the rescue, and we are in constant need of help and generous donations, when one of our recues gets sick it takes an even bigger toll on us personally and financially as we try to provide the best for all the animals in our care and ensure they have a brighter future.

Please help donate to Rescue City, make a difference for Zoey, and save a life.
