Brownies Rescue Fund

My name is Lisa and I am passionate about the rescue and proper treatment of horses. I teach riding lessons and most of my students are 1st time young riders who are learning about horses for the 1st time. 

All of my horses are rescues, and are not just part of my program, but of my family and my heart. I take the abandonded, left behind, and injured horses and bring back their diginigy and give them a job teaching young children how to love them and take care of them. 

This GoFundMe request is for a horse I have just rescued that needs more than the usual rehabilitation I provide and bring into my program. 

This is beautiful Brownie. He was abandoned on his property in Orangevale after his owner sold the home. I was called to help rescue him, as he is very old, malnutritioned and the new owners of the property could no longer care for him with her limited knowledge of horses. 

He is aproximately 25-30 years old, and is very underweight by   at least 150 lbs. BRownie is full of worms/parasites, arthritis in his legs, and terrible feet.

When I 1st met him last week, he was very afraid but now trusts me and can feel the love and knows I just want to help him. After meeting him and bringing him home, he follows me around the pasture and leaning into me, knowing he's safe. 

I am in desperate need of funds that will help in his rehabilitation. This will give him back his dignity and will to live that all beautiful horses deserve. The money will go to the vet check ups and any medical attention required, shoeing, de-worming, dental work, and extra feedings to get his weight back up, and so much more. 

My goal after rehab is that Brownie will be able to be a part of my riding program for my itty bitties, whether that's just being brushed or being lead around with little ones with smiles. He will always know love and admiration during these last years of his life!
