Rescue two stray dogs from Bosnia
Donation protected
Hi everyone, we recently met these two beautiful stray dogs on holiday in the southern part of Bosnia & Herzegovina near Trebinje. We fell in love with them immediately as they are the sweetest, most affectionate dogs. As we were leaving we were informed by our host that she would be leaving soon too, and that the two dogs would either be shot by local villagers (as is commonplace there) or they will starve in the winter, meaning the dogs were unlikely to survive.
Because of this, we have decided to rescue them.
We have since found them two foster homes in Berlin whilst we look for their long-term homes. We have also bought a van to drive down from Berlin to Bosnia to pick them up, and our Trebinje host has been amazingly helpful in taking the two dogs to the vet to get all of their medical procedures and documentation sorted so that we can bring them back to Germany (aiming to do so before the end of October)
Medical costs (neutering + vaccinations) have been covered, but we need support with additional documentation costs: health certificate, EU passport, de-worming (€100 per dog; €200 total). We are also covering most travel costs ourselves (e.g. van cost, hotels, food) but we are asking for support with petrol costs only (~€220)
If there are any leftover donations, we would also like to support their foster homes with dog equipment costs whilst we find them long-term homes (dog beds and crates)
If we exceed our target, the remainder will be donated to Azil Danica, an animal shelter based in Trebinje.
We will post regular photos of the rescue mission and of the boys in their foster homes. All receipts will be posted here for any payments made. Full cost breakdown below (subject to slight variation):

P.S. If you are also interested in adopting one or both of the dogs, please get in touch! Transportation is possible to UK and parts of Europe.
Thank you for your help <3
