We found a stray kitten who had been hit by a car on a busy road. He spent a couple of weeks after getting hit before we were able to catch him. He is unable to walk without dragging his hind end. We had X-rays done and while his pelvis and spine are remarkably okay, he has one leg that is fractured and the other is dislocated.
This sweet boy is eating, using the litter box, exploring and climbing furniture for a view out the window. He falls into your lap for pets. He is doing so well in every other aspect, I don't want to see him be put down because we can't afford the surgery he needs to get him on his way again.
He is a fighter. I don't want to give up on him yet. Every rescue I have contacted has been full, and I don't know what else to do. Anything would be helpful. If he can't get the surgery, putting him down is the only option.
If I am unable to raise enough funds to cover the surgery, I will return to donations. If I am, I will provide receipts and updates. The current surgery estimate I am getting is around $8,000, which is far more than I expected. I will keep the fundraiser updated with quotes from surgeons as I get them. They need to review the X-rays before they can provide an accurate estimate. If we are somehow able to raise more than the needed amount, I will donate the remainder to a rescue so we can save more kitties
