RESCUE THE ROADHOUSE

Message From Kris, owner of the Roadhouse:

Running this business over the last 3.5 years has had its share of challenges. Just like everywhere right now, finding people who want to work has been a challenge.

Location for employment has assisted in the already worldwide shortage of motivation. But I suppose it’s okay because there are people like me here and there who don’t give up. I will likely work till the day I retire from this earth. I feel it’s my duty of sorts.

Regardless of the outcome, I will know that I gave it my best and quite literally, my all. No, I am nowhere near okay with “giving up”, nor can I imagine doing such a thing. My heart is here, and I feel like my mission has barely started. With the purchase just before the pandemic, I know I sustained a great number of challenges and unknowns. I for one thought, refused to give up. I believe there has been a great deal of patience just waiting for the new normal to begin. And just now that beginning is looking to be wonderful for this industry.

Finally!! Although we do not know what the future holds, I do know that as long as I am here, my doors will continue to open and welcome all the old and new so we can continue to bring a bit of joy with music, friendships, food, drinks, and all-around great time to the community and everyone who looks forward to spending time with us.

It’s not easy for me to ask for help. Most people who know me, know my stubbornness and sense of pride. But I have come to realize that I cannot be here for others and offer what I do, If I allow my pride to get in the way. This place is not mine. It belongs to everyone who loves it here. Everything from the decorations on the walls, remodels, menu suggestions, etc. have all been a collaboration of donations, labor, ideas, and inspiration from all the people who grace this place with their presence. It would not be fair of me to not offer the opportunity for these people to help save our Roadhouse. So, with this realization, I know I must swallow my pride and put it out there.

Unfortunately, due to shortage of staffing, I was forced to accept whatever help I could to keep my doors open and get through the pandemic. I love cooking so being in the kitchen was no problem for me, yet I was set to trust somebody to operate the face of my business, (bartending, waitressing, and running all the cash going into the business). Sadly, It took me far too long to realize that money was being stolen. And because of this I have been set too far behind to be able to recover what is needed to be in good standing allowing our liquor license renewal at the end of the month. Without this license renewal, we will be forced to close our doors.

Friends of Krissi’s Country Roadhouse have set up a Go Fund Me page to try to raise enough funds to keep the doors open. I cannot thank these people enough for having such confidence and belief in what I do here and this place. It warms my heart a great deal and I can’t imagine not being surrounded by this sense of love I get here every day.

I’m sending love out to all and thank you to those who continue to believe in me and the Roadhouse.

Thank You,
