Rescue the Rescue - Diana's Grove

Donation protected
Here is an update on our current situation:

Thank you for all the incredible support we have received in the past 48 hours.  Not only have we received very generous donations, but we have also received increased adoptions, foster families, transfer assistance, and rescues willing to take on dogs.  Most importantly, we have received support from the St. Louis community.

Through all of this, we have also received some negative comments and unfortunately, there are rumors spreading.  We are not perfect and have never claimed to be.  However, we are trying the best we can to save as many dogs as possible.  If you hear a rumor or have a specific question, please reach out to a Diana’s Grove representative directly to receive accurate information.

Going forward, we have a plan.  We want to continue to save dogs, but we absolutely can’t do it alone.  So, we will continue to look to the St. Louis community to support us.  One of these ways is through the GoFundMe Page we have created.  We must have funds to continue operations and savings dogs.  Here is a little about our financial situation:

1.       We run solely on adoption fees and donations.  We currently do not have government grants or corporate sponsorships, therefore look to adoption fees and donations as our main revenue.

2.       Yes, we have paid staff.  It is only a few, but they are paid.  What large rescue who saves over 2,000 dogs a year doesn’t?  There must be individuals who have adequate training to help run our shelter.  Even though there are paid staff, most of our help is volunteer based.  We have been working around the clock to find the best solution for this tough situation.

3.       The dogs need medicine and vet care.  A lot of the dogs taken in come from undesirable homes and need treatment.  That treatment is unfortunately not free.

4.       A large majority of our dogs also come to us unaltered.  So, we must not only help them through any illnesses they have, but we also must spay and neuter them.

Again, we want to continue saving dogs and we want to provide the best care to them.  Please help us do that!
