Please help us save Shortie!

We rescued him from a petstore that was shut down by the state.. He is an African sulcata Tortise around 35 yrs old and weighs 85 lbs, all the animals there were being badly abused and neglected. We aqired him through the Wildlife center and the SPCA of Houston. Shortie is very well taken care of now until recently he stopped eating.. we took him to the vet which was an an hour and a half away from where we live and found out he has an infection that he has had since before we adopted him. We have only had shortie since Oct 2024 (4 mo) we have already spent $450 dollars on vet bills and will need to take him back in to be sedated because he is refusing to eat. We currently have him inside of the house to keep a closer eye on him. In order for Shortie to stay with us the sedation and tube to feed him will cost around $1200.00 because they also have to keep him for a few days and give injections of antibiotics. Please help us save him. He has already had a very tough life and all we are trying to do is make the rest of his life easy. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
