My name is Shadow and I’m 9 months old. I’m a German Shepherd from San Diego. When I was really little, someone found me in a cardboard box in an alley and brought me to the Humane Society. My foster paw-rents took care of me until I was adopted by my family. That’s when I moved to the Inland Empire. Boy, is it hot out there. I like to chomp on ice cubes, hunt crickets, and hang out with my mini big brother, Duke.
I recently went to the vet and was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia. My dad says that's a fancy word for both sides of my hips and it’s why I hop around like a bunny on my back legs. The doggy doctor said I need a total hip replacement. It sounds scary, but if I’m brave and the surgery works, I can get robot-like hips and maybe my dream of going on long walks and hikes with my family wolf pack will come true one day.
