Help Save River’s Heart ❤️
River’s story started in heartbreak. She and her sister were found abandoned by a creek, fighting to survive at just a few weeks old. We adopted River, and Allie's mom adopted her sister—giving both puppies the loving homes they deserved. But what we didn’t know was that River had been hiding a deadly secret.
The organization that placed her with us either didn’t perform a proper wellness check or chose not to tell us about her very apparent heart defect. Instead, we were unknowingly handed a dying puppy.
At only 3 months old, River has already become the center of our world. She’s the doggiest-dog we’ve ever known—digging holes like a pro, chomping at water from the hose, scouring the yard to “protect” us, and wrestling with her big brother, Gus. To us, our dogs are family. They are our children. And now, one of our babies is fighting for her life.
River was born with a congenital heart defect called PDA. Without emergency surgery, she won’t survive. With it, her surgeon says she can live a long, full, healthy life. The cost for her surgery, medication, and follow-up care is $8,500—far beyond what we can handle alone.
We cannot stand by and lose her. And so we’re asking, humbly, for your help.
Every single donation—no matter how small—brings us one step closer to saving River’s heart and giving her the future she deserves: one filled with muddy paws, wagging tails, and unconditional love.
From the bottom of our hearts (and hers), thank you for helping us fight for River’s life.
