Hi, I’m Jennifer.

My family and I live in the countryside, where — far too often — stray, scared, and sick dogs find their way into our lives. These animals are malnourished, frightened, and in desperate need of help.

Since moving here four years ago, we've taken in four stray dogs. Each one has needed extensive veterinary care, time, and love to recover. Without our intervention, these dogs likely would have ended up in overcrowded shelters — or worse, left to fend for themselves without food, shelter, safety, or kindness.

Meet Bambi, the sweet dog pictured above. We found her crossing a road with her tail tucked tightly beneath her body and an electrical cord wrapped around her neck like a collar. She was terrified. I happened to have food in the car, and when I offered it, she low-crawled toward me cautiously and gently took it from my hand — as if she were saying “thank you” for the small act of kindness.

Once I earned her trust, she let me lift her into the car. When we got home, our other rescue dogs greeted her with wagging tails and warm hearts. She immediately began to relax — her tail slowly unfurled, and she finally seemed to feel safe.

Sadly, Bambi is in rough shape. She’s covered in fleas, visibly malnourished, and limping on her front left leg.

We’re asking for a little financial support from dog lovers who may not be able to rescue animals themselves, but still want to help give these dogs a second chance. Every dollar will go directly toward Bambi’s care and recovery.

We previously raised $100 for our last rescue, Darla (also pictured above), and that generous support helped cover a portion of her vet bills. We were so grateful — and now, we’re hoping to do the same for Bambi.
