Poppy was found in the Henry School gardens on August 9. Terrified, starving, and injured, I managed to trap her with a humane trap and bring her home. We found that she looked fairly healthy, except the tip of her tail seemed off. We immediately took her to the vet where they told us her tail had been degloved, the tip completely came off, and she would need surgery to amputate as soon as possible. Most likely due to her time living under cars, or even an animal attack. We knew we had to do everything we could to make sure she would get the care she needed.
But as I'm sure many of you are aware, times are tough and vet bills are incredibly expensive. We try our best to rescue strays whenever we can and give them loving homes and medical care, but this is a big, unexpected expense. We are seeking to raise money to help Poppy with all the medical care she will need to recover and live a full, happy life. She is the sweetest little kitten and I can't imagine what her life would have been if we hadn't found her.
I'm asking for anyone who can donate to consider helping us raise enough to afford surgery and her follow-up appointments. All funds will go towards her surgery, any post op care, medications, and any future vet bills. We were recommended to the Bridge Clinic for their good prices and good surgeons, but if anyone has any information on other low cost vets, please feel free to reach out. We just want the best for her and to make sure she’s seen as soon as possible. She will require lots of care and I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to make sure she's okay. Please consider sharing or donating if you can, we appreciate anyone’s helps and it means alot to us cat lovers out there who are trying to rescue as many cats as we can.
