Piggy Sue Needs Our Help!

Recently, an elderly owner who had over 100 animals passed away. Her daughter has worked tirelessly to rehome them all—except for two horses and one sweet 2- to 3-year-old potbellied pig named Piggy Sue.

Sadly, the rest of the pigs were taken to slaughter… but Piggy Sue escaped. Conditions on the property are now getting dangerous—fences are left open, water is being shut off, and buildings are being broken into. Sound Equine Options will be picking up the two remaining horses on Friday, and we do not want to leave Piggy Sue behind.

The good news is we have a plan!

Pony Up Equine and Farm Animal Rescue has offered Piggy Sue a permanent, loving home. Kit from the Clackamas County Posse is volunteering to help us safely load her and secure temporary housing.

But before she can move to her forever home, Piggy Sue needs to be spayed. Female pigs are at extremely high risk of reproductive cancers if left intact, and spaying is essential for her long, healthy future.

This is not a simple procedure. Spaying a pig is a complex abdominal surgery requiring specialized equipment and veterinary expertise. We’ve been quoted $1,200–$1,500 at OSU for her care.

Because pigs fall outside the mission of Sound Equine Options, I am fundraising as an individual to cover these costs. That means your donations, while deeply appreciated, will not be tax-deductible—but they will directly save Piggy Sue’s life.
