My name is Paul. I've lived in my house that I've owned for almost 20 years. I'm 64 years old and in poor health. I'm currently trying to get disability, but it's not going as quickly as I need to survive. It's not been easy to try to find employment at my age and with my health problems. I have a heart condition and going through cancer treatments. . The situation I'm in is desperate. I'm currently working with an attorney to fight the foreclosure but that's still costing me $200 a month. Also looking for an attorney to help with my disability but they're asking for an upfront deposit. My utilities are behind and my car is in need of repairs. I've reached out to many organizations and government agencies, but there seems to be no funding available thanks to federal cutbacks. I live with my 2 rescue dogs who were taken from a breeder who kept them in small cages. I currently use what little SNAP benefits I get to feed them. I would have to give them up if I was to lose my house, and that would be devastating for the pitbull. She also has health issues and doesn't trust many people. She was terribly abused. Her chances for adoption would be almost nothing. I never thought I would be someone who would be asking for help, especially for myself. I gave to charities all my life. Now, unfortunately, I'm the person needing help. My utilities are about 2 months past due and I will be losing my cellphone service in about 3 weeks. I'm trying to get on disability, but that unfortunately can take more than 9 months and as long as 2 years. If you can give as little as a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated. I have nowhere else to turn to. This isn't the way I wanted to spend my holiday season. For those who choose to help, thank you.
