Rescue Mission for Zuri & Her Pups
Donation protected
I found Zuri, a sweet and severely malnourished mother dog, nursing her 1-day-old puppies in a makeshift box on a trail in the forest. It was just a day before Tropical Storm Ernesto hit Puerto Rico. They were surrounded by dangers, including red-tailed boas, and their chances of survival were grim. With no hesitation, I gathered Zuri and her 7 tiny pups and brought them into my home. That night, the storm caused severe flooding, and we lost power for days. I knew I made the right decision.
My fiancé and I have cared for these dogs in our 750 sq. ft. home, alongside our own two large dogs, bringing our household to 10! I reached out to shelters and nonprofits for help, but they were all full or unresponsive. Weeks turned into months, and I became desperate to find these sweet pups loving homes.
Finally, I connected with a shelter in Florida, Halo Sebastian, willing to take in Zuri and her puppies, provide them medical care, and find forever families. All that’s left is to cover transportation and medical expenses required for transportation. I found a small nonprofit to assist, Island Dog Rescue, but they need support, too.
Your donation will help not just these dogs but many more suffering strays in Puerto Rico. Please consider helping us give Zuri and her pups the second chance they deserve! If you are looking to expand your family with a cute face like this - reach out to Halo of Sebastian, FL!
Thank you so much for your time and donation.. there are currently 650,000 strays dogs in Puerto Rico with little to no resources for them to receive care or shelter.. a small donation goes a very long way here! :)
Sincerely, a super tired dog mom of 10
