Rescue Max: Caroline's Best Friend in Need
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Caroline King! I am a freshman at Louisiana State University and a part of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. That’s enough about me; let me tell you about my soul dog, Max!
I volunteer monthly at the local Baton Rouge animal shelter called Companion Animal Alliance, and that’s where I met my sweet boy! On April 11th, I volunteered and first met Max (whose name at the time was Everest) as I was interested in doing Date-A-Dog with him. I was then told if I had not taken him out of the shelter that day, he was going to be euthanized. After I heard this, I knew he was meant for me.
Recently, I have been struggling with anxiety as most college students do, and being 13 hours away from home does not help. However, all of that melts away when I’m with Max.
Going into adopting him, I knew he had heartworms but not the extent or cost. I took him to the vet on April 14th and received an estimate for his treatment: $2,291. Two thousand dollars to give my best friend the life he deserves after being in the shelter for over 5 months.
Max is the sweetest, most loyal, and affectionate dog ever. I need help to save him. I cannot afford the medication to heal him, but I can't let him die. Please consider helping me save this beautiful soul. Thank you!
