Rescue Liam & Katie

Katie Simmons along with her son, Liam, has fled an abusive and violent situation in another state to return home to her family and friends.  They escaped with just a few things leaving most of their belongings behind.

We have greatly missed our daughter and grandson and are extremely proud of her for having the courage to leave and seek a better life for both of them.

 Liam, our grandson is five years old and has autism.  He has not received the treatment or therapies needed to improve his functioning.  Katie had to fight opposition from Liam's father and other grandmother just to get him diagnosed and then decided to leave when faced with a lack of appropriate care in the area in which they lived.

Needless to say those responsible for the abuse are fighting her efforts to relocate.  Funds raised through this campaign will offset the legal cost of their move.  The two states involved will each require Katie to obtain legal representation which will be very costly and require resources which neither Katie nor we have.

Our family has dealt with many health  challenges through the years and the latest and longest battle with cancer has depleted most of what we might have used to help our daughter thru this crisis.  We are extremely grateful for any help we receive and we know that it will make a significant difference in the outcome of this case.

Liam is a very sweet and loving little boy and was caught in a life situation which wasn't going to help him with his challenges.  He deserves a loving and stable home and professionals to help him grow to reach his full potential to lead a fulfilling life.
