My name is Mohammed Sheikha, 30 years old. I am Civil Engineer.

I reach out of you with a heavy heart to tell you the story of my family through the unimaginable challenges in Gaza due to the ongoing war.

Tomorrow February 2, 2026. For the first time in nearly two years, the crossing between Egypt and Gaza will open. My wife and our three young children desperately need food and humanitarian aid.

The Egyptian authorities require entry fees of $5,000 per child and $7,000 per adult—an amount far beyond what I can afford on my own.

My brother Ahmed sheikha 29 year his family Laila Sheikha they have 2 children (Salwa 2 year, Nasser 6 month) He lives with his family in one house and lost his place of work and source of income.

My sister, Yasmine Sheikha is an architect She lives with my family and was working as a design engineer She lost her place of work during the aggression.

My sister, Dana Sheikha is 23 years old Undergraduate software engineering student.

My brother, Mahmoud Sheikha 20 years old Undergraduate software engineering student.

My younger brother, Ibrahim Sheikha 16 years old is a school student He lost his studies due to the war and the destruction of his school.

On November 5, 2023, escalating danger led to the evacuation of Gaza, especially after the family's home in the Shifa Hospital area was completely destroyed. We left everything behind, our homes and our possessions. We moved to a friend’s house in Deir al-Balah, thinking it was a safe area. However, we faced mortal danger during the transfer, and found ourselves in an area characterized by constant missile threats to our lives.
