Leslie’s given so much to others, and now she needs our support.

For years, our incredible friend Leslie has been a lifeline to the animal rescue community. She’s fostered countless animals, bottle-fed kittens, and provided life-saving care to those in need. She helped my sweet orange kitten named Gertie recover from a horrific leg injury. We thought the leg would have to be amputated, but Leslie kept working with her and her leg was saved. Recently, she nursed Baby B back to health when everyone thought she wouldn't make it. Leslie has cared for us all including her mother, who died of cancer this year. We have always been able to count on Leslie Wood!

Insurance claim was declined and high deductibles

In her early 30s, Leslie endured a terrible accident, resulting in multiple broken bones, as well as injuries to her back, hips, and ankle—ultimately resulting in more than a dozen surgeries to repair the damage. Recently, she tripped on her weak ankle and had a bad fall, breaking both ankles.

Leslie's health insurance has denied coverage for necessary surgery to repair the damage to her ankles. To cover medical expenses, Leslie even sold her car—the very car she used to transport animals in need.
