Hercules is using 4 types of antibiotics now. Rita also bought him an oxygen machine at home to help him breathe. Every day Rita brings Hercules to hospital for follow ups and gets a shot for supplements.
This is the story of a dog who hasn’t given up—and neither have we. His name is Hercules.
It all began when I came across a post shared by a kindhearted content creator, spreading the word about a shelter dog scheduled to be euthanized. A lady called Rita quickly stepped forward, offering to adopt him and give him a second chance at life. But in the day or two between that hopeful moment and the adoption process, the dog’s health took a sudden, drastic turn for the worse.
He was moved up on the euthanasia list—he would be put down before Rita could get to him.
By a stroke of luck and determination, Rita managed to contact the shelter just in time to rescue him. And she wasn’t alone. Dozens of compassionate people began closely following the dog’s story, offering help, advice, and financial support.
But the situation quickly became more serious than anyone expected. At the emergency veterinary hospital, the diagnosis was grim: his condition was critical, and he would need life-sustaining treatment just to survive the night. The cost? Over $8,000 per day.
Though we’ve raised a portion of the funds, it’s nowhere near enough. With the mounting expenses, his rescuer—doing everything she can—had no choice but to take him home temporarily to monitor his condition.
Even so, this dog hasn’t given up.
On the ride home, he curiously looked out the window, wagged his tail at other dogs walking in the park, and tried his best to eat. He is still fighting for his life. And we’re still fighting for him.
We believe he can make it. We believe he deserves to live—to run freely in the dog park he stared at longingly from the car window.
Please, if you can, help us give him that chance. Help us bring him back to life—not just with medical care, but with the love and future every dog deserves.
