Bird Owner Unable to Care for Pair of Ducks: Funding/Sponsorship Needed
West Place Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals from cruelty, abuse, and neglect cases, but sometimes exceptions can be made. We were contacted about a pair of Pekin ducks (one male, one female) in Foster, RI. Their owner is an elderly, disabled widower who is struggling to provide the bare minimum care.
Several of his other birds were lost to predators, and these ducks deserve a safe, peaceful home with plenty of space to roam and swim. A kind neighbor took the ducks to a vet and they are in good health, but we simply cannot bring more birds to the sanctuary (who do not fall under our mission) without the proper financial support.
We are asking for your help to rescue and provide a lifetime of care to these two ducks.
Our Goal:
The total cost to care for a duck is $25 per month ($50 for a pair). This means the total amount we need to raise for one year of basic care (food, shelter, dewormer, and enrichment) is $600. Having monthly sponsors for these ducks is absolutely critical to ensuring we can provide them with the resources they need to thrive at West Place Animal Sanctuary while still caring for dozens of other farm animal rescues.
How You Can Help:
We understand that not everyone can make a monthly commitment, but together we can combine our resources and provide a better life for these ducks. Your support, no matter the size, makes all the difference.
Make a one-time donation and help us reach our goal of $600 so we can accept the ducks.
OR
Sponsor one of the ducks for $25/month, or both ducks for $50/month at https://www.westplace.org/duck-sponsorship so they can come to West Place.
Please help us bring these ducks to our sanctuary where they will have a permanent home and a lifetime of responsible care. We thank you for your kindness!
