Rescue Dogs Clovis, Humphrey and Aurora
Donation protected
Welcome Clovis, Humphrey and Aurora to Salt’s Helping Hounds Rescue!
We're thrilled to share the journey of Clovis, Humphrey and Aurora, three brave souls who have endured unimaginable hardships. Thanks to the compassionate efforts of Salt’s Helping Hounds Rescue and Save Our Seized Dogs (SOSD), these dogs now have a chance to experience the love and care they deserve.
Their Arrival
When Clovis and Humphrey were rescued, their condition was dire, with body scores of 1 and 1.5, indicating severe emaciation. They spent their first three days under veterinary care to ensure they received any initial treatment they needed.
The Reality of Their Past
Their eyes told a story of despair and hunger, reflecting a life where they had all but given up. But now, they are surrounded by people committed to changing their narrative.
The Rescue Effort
A dedicated team worked behind the scenes to give Clovis and Humphrey not just a future, but a chance to truly live. Both dogs were in critical condition, meaning they now require extensive physical and mental rehabilitation.
The Road to Recovery
Recovery is a slow process requiring time, love, care, patience, and financial resources. Clovis and Humphrey are on a strict feeding schedule, initially needing to be fed every two hours, including throughout the night. This regime has helped them start wagging their tails and experience kind human touch for the first time.
How You Can Help
Supporting their journey comes with significant costs. Even a small donation of £1 can make a big difference. Alternatively, you can contribute by selecting items from their wish list.
Once upon a time there was a special puppy named Aurora. With her sparkling eyes and boundless energy, Aurora had the heart of a lion and the spirit of a whirlwind. She was only 9 months old, but her journey had already been filled with trials and triumphs.
Aurora has leg deformities, which will make the future challenging. She spent time confined to a small kennel or crate, her days filled with a longing to experience the world. Running freely in the fields, chasing butterflies, and feeling the soft grass under her paws were only distant dreams.
One fateful day, her life took a turn for the better. Two kind organisations called Salt’s Helping Hounds and Save Our seized Dogs heard about her plight and decided to take her under their wing. They saw not just a puppy with leg deformities but a spirited little girl who deserved a chance to live her life to the fullest.
Aurora was moved to her first emergency home, where her journey of rehabilitation began. She was poorly and underweight, struggling with gastric issues that made her weak. Her new home showered her with love and gentle care. They gave her a nutritious diet and medication to help her grow stronger. Slowly but surely, Aurora began to put on weight, her coat grew shinier, and her eyes sparkled with a new found hope.
In her new home, Aurora experienced the warmth of human touch and the comfort of snuggles on the sofa. Her days were filled with gentle training sessions and the joy of discovering new toys. For the first time, she felt what it meant to be loved and cared for with loving hands.
As Aurora's health improved, it was time for her to take the next step in her journey. She moved to a new foster home, a place with wide-open spaces where she could explore and play. Here, Aurora has discovered the simple pleasures she had always dreamed of. She sniffed the grass, chased after leaves, and learned the joy of treat-snaffling.
Her front legs, which have been diagnosed as rickets, poses a challenge. The damage is irreversible, but Aurora's spirit remains unbroken. She has adapted quickly, finding her own way to move and play despite the limitations. Her resilience is an inspiration to everyone around her.
Aurora's journey was filled with moments of pure joy and occasional setbacks. But through it all, she has a team of dedicated people who support her every step of the way. They will make sure she has everything she needs to live a happy and fulfilling life.
One sunny afternoon, as Aurora lay in the meadow, basking in the warmth of the sun, she looked up at the sky and felt a sense of contentment. She had come a long way from the confines of her kennel. Now, she was a free-spirited puppy, living each day to the fullest.
Aurora's story is a testament to the power of love, care, and resilience. She may have started her journey with leg deformities, but she ended up touching the hearts of everyone she met. Aurora's tale reminds us that every creature, no matter their challenges, deserves a chance to experience the joys of life.
And so, Aurora will live happily ever after, surrounded by kind, loving hands and a team that makes sure her happiness is always paramount. She is a whirlwind of energy, a beacon of hope, and a reminder that with a little love and care, even the most delicate of creatures can thrive.
When Aurora is ready we will be looking for that special forever foster home, in the meantime if you would like to help support our rescue with our 3 new additions please consider donating.
