This is our beautiful new family member, Blondie (formerly Chica.) She was rescued from an abusive situation in Texas. She has had no medical care whatsoever. The sweet family who rescued her from abuse now has to move and can't find a local family to take her in. She was going to be taken to a shelter where she would be euthanized due to Texas' high rate of animal euthanization. Another very kind soul prevented her from going there, but they cannot keep her, either. They were just trying to buy her some time. We're overjoyed that they did that because we love her and are ready to welcome her into our family! We live in Virginia and have been extremely active in animal rescue for over 26 years. We have rescued and fostered over 40 animals in that time and every single one has been an enormous blessing to our family. I'm kind of a neat freak so my time is spent cleaning and running with the dogs and my husband's time (after work) is spent grilling for the animals, lol! We wouldn't trade this life for anything. Unfortunately, about two months ago my husband's contract was cut. He recently began a new job, thank God, but funds are a little tight at the moment. The cost of transportation from Texas to Virginia is about $350 and the cost of her spay surgery is about $480 at the low-cost, but high quality, clinic.
