Hello friends and family,
I’m raising funds to travel to Ridglan Farm and assist in an active rescue effort involving beagles being held in large-scale breeding and research conditions.
Housing nearly 2k beagles, these dogs have spent their entire lives in confinement. Kept in cages, denied basic enrichment, and treated as disposable. Conditions like this often involve overcrowding, inadequate medical care, and prolonged neglect. These dogs are bred repeatedly, separated, and live without ever experiencing a normal environment. Reports from this facility also describe invasive procedures, including the removal of tear ducts and vocal cords carried out without proper anesthesia for animal testing purposes. It's not legal and it is abuse.
The beagles depend on people showing up for them. Advocates have been pushing for a long time to get them out. This is not old news, and it hasn’t been resolved. What’s different now is that more serious, coordinated steps are being taken to intervene and remove them from these conditions.
I’m involved with the Direct Action Everywhere Midwest Chapter (DxE), an international grassroots network focused on exposing cruelty to animals and organizing peaceful direct action to push for systemic change. Through this work, I’ve been connected to ongoing rescue efforts like this one and am stepping up to be physically present where help is needed.
I’m planning to be on the ground to support however I’m needed during this mass April rescue. And with that, I am asking for help covering:
Driving to and from Dane County (where the breeding farm is located)
Temporary housing while I’m there
Direct costs related to supporting the dogs during the rescue
Any extra funds will go directly toward supplies and care for the beagles.
This effort depends on people being willing to show up for the dogs, and I appreciate you taking the time to donate.
Until every cage is empty!
Thank you so much!
This fundraiser goes to Laurie’s checking account to pay for the expenses of getting to and from Madison Wisconsin along with room and board, gas and food.
