Meet Badr, the donkey I found abandoned under the scorching Tetouan sun—starving, injured, and unable to stand properly.

I was informed that Badr's owner had discarded him after he felt he was no longer of benefit to him, abandoned in the open fields with a severe injuries, leaving him vulnerable to attacks from the wild animals! Allahul Musta'an!

His feet were wounded, one missing its sole entirely, and his body was covered in sores.

I couldn't leave Badr there in that dangerous situation so I arranged to bring him into my garden and gave him fresh lettuce and hay, which he immediately enjoyed. I called for a veterinarian to examine him ASAP who assured me Badr can recover, insha Allah, and that putting him to sleep was not necessary, but he needs daily care: two injections each day (one antibiotic and one anti-inflammatory), wound spray twice a day, and plenty of hay and barley to help him regain his strength. He also needs a safe and comfortable shelter in the garden.

Once his infection heals, there is even hope for a prosthetic foot, which would allow him to walk on all four legs again.

Despite all the pain he’s endured, Badr trusts me. He lets me rub his face, and—even on just three feet—he hobbles toward me when I call.

Badr has survived the worst, but his journey isn’t over. He urgently needs ongoing medical treatment, nourishing food, and a secure place to call home. With your support, we can give Badr the happy, healthy and comfortable life he deserves.
