Rescue Armenian dogs need help to fly Canada
Donation protected
This is an urgent appeal.
We are devastated that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has just announced a permanent ban on the entry of commercial dogs into Canada (following the CDC ban in the US last year), which includes rescue dogs from over 100 countries which are deemed to be at high risk for rabies. Sadly, this includes Armenia.
The ban comes into effect in just under three short months, on 28 September 2022. This has not left us much time, but we want to send three rescued dogs to partner rescue in Canada. They must land on Canadian soil before the 28 September, or it will be too late, and their entry will be denied.
We desperately need to raise funds to cover the transportation costs for as many dogs as possible. For each dog it will cost up to $1350, including their preparation, paperwork and flight cost. The ban was announced suddenly, meaning this is a huge and unexpected cost for us. That’s why we need your help.
These 3 dogs - Lola, Sky and Honey are rescued by an amazing woman Pina Vermish in Vanadzor city. Unfortunately, disabled dogs have no chance of being adopted in Armenia, and our only hope is to send them to Canada, where they can have a better future.
Lola's leg was operated and one leg is shorter that's why she is limping:
Sky is a tripod:
And this is Honey, who had sarcoma when Pina rescued her:
