Rescue and relief funds for Jonathan Layton

Most of you that are reading have been following since day one. My Dad (Jonathan Layton) went to Cancun Saturday October 17 for vacation with some friends of his. He arrived some hours before they did. Things were good. He was admiring the view and enjoying life. By the time my dad’s friends arrived at the hotel, they were informed that Dad suffered a massive heart attack that caused his heart to stop. EMS was able to get his heart started again. During transport he suffered 2 more heart attacks. Money had to be handed to them upfront for them to start services. (The entire process has been about money.) My brother and my aunt got to Cancun Sunday to handle things down there and be able to make decisions on Dad’s behalf. Dad then at some point had 2 more heart attacks making 5 heart attacks in a 24/48 hours period. It has been a whirl wind of events with a majority of it being around demands of money and refusing to stop treatment as Dad was in a private hospital that does not take insurance. When Dad finally started to become coherent, he thought he was in Japan. ( he’s never been to Japan lol) Now he knows what happened and how he came to be in the hospital in Cancun. Between my brother’s, myself and a few others we were able to get resources together to get dad out of Mexico and back to Florida to continue care and get open heart surgery done in the states. He was evacuated today October 22nd and got to Florida October 23rd and arrived at the hospital at 3:25am. He is still critical yet stable. If you can find it possible to help in anyway to help cover costs for our rescue mission(I.e expenses incurred by friends and family going to and from hotel and paying to get services started and to pay final Doctors expenses) and to give dad further relief financially, we would be beyond grateful. Even if you can’t donate, if you could just share it to get the word out, it would be much appreciated. No amount is too small. The funds I am raising are to help cover the costs it took to get my Dad ( Jonathan Layton) treatment and evacuation out of Mexico and getting him back state side to Florida. Dad has been a proud Paul Harris member of Rotary International for many years. He has a loving heart and generous nature. He loves to fish, cook, and read books.
