Rescue Tangerine, a tiny kitten from Morocco
Donation protected

I'm Selina, and I'm fundraising to treat and rescue a tiny kitten from the streets of Tangier, Morocco.
I do not ask for help lightly, and never expect it of anyone. He is my tiny responsibility and I will sell a kidney if I must. That being said, a few folks have very, very kindly asked if I have a gofundme (and in one case threatened to do it if I don't). So here it is. Any help at all is more appreciated than I will ever be able to express.
I found him alone and starving near the beach, huddled against a wall for shelter. He has an infection that's swelled the skin on his face, meaning his eyes are almost entirely shut. He stood no chance of survival alone, and nobody else was helping. I couldn't walk past him and leave him to die.
I brought him food and after a lot of walking to find a vet (they were all shut because it was a Sunday) and panicked searching for WiFi to contact any local animal charities for advice, I eventually scooped him up and snuck him back into my hotel.
When I got him to the vet the next day he said it's one of the worst cases of ringworm he's seen. And he (respectfully) wasn't a young vet. This was heartbreaking as I thought it was mange, a comparatively quick and less expensive treatment.
It's contagious to other animals, and humans. He would need 3-4 months of quarantined treatment to recover. The other option was euthanasia.
The charity is at full capacity and cannot take him. The only way to save him is to pay the vet to hospitalise him during treatment. The funds raised will go towards this and the cost of getting him home to the UK.
Once better, he will need a microchip, vaccines and blood tests to ensure he is safe to fly to the UK and poses no risks of rabies to other animals. That process will take at least two additional months.
Unlike the other cats I have rescued from the streets of Greece, there are no direct flights for pets from Morocco to England.
I will need to fly to Morocco to get government approved vets to authorise his passport and vaccine papers. Then fly with him to Paris. Then drive him from Paris across the channel to England.
I expect the whole process to take many months and thousands of pounds. I don't yet know the full costs, but I have some estimates based on research. The vet have agreed to hospitalise him for 200 dirhams a day for the treatment period (24,000 Dirhams total which is around £1,900 or $2,400 USD) and the cost of the rabies jab and microchip seems to be around another 1,000 dirhams.
I'm unsure of the rabies treatment cost, pet passport costs and there will be the flights and Eurotunnel too.
But I couldn't leave him to die. So it's this or bust. I've already rinsed my (granted very limited) savings and paid for the first 20 days of quarantine. My current living situation means my outgoings are crippling, so I do not have much disposable income. Every penny I do have spare will be sent to Morocco until he is home. If you're willing and able to help, it means the world to me. When I am financially stable again I will pay forward every penny donated here to animal charities in Morocco.
