Re-release of Living Under Three Flags book

Who wants the legacy of the Jessen family of Lexington, Nebraska, to live on?

Everyone who is part of this incredible story...that's for sure!

Now approaching 300-strong, this family legacy continues to grow from its start with Boy and Kirstine Jessen. And this book, "Living Under Three Flags," tells the story's start.

But alas, only a few hundred of these books were printed by Boy in 1959. Some have been lost. Some are in permanent residence with older relatives. And many descendants DO NOT have this book, nor do they currently have a way to obtain it.

A publishing firm purchased the company Boy used to self-publish the book initially. Yet another firm purchased that company! There is no record of the transcripts held by any other publisher and no way to order more of these historical books!

Let's fix that!

Boy and Kirstine's daughter, Marie Johnson, painstakingly recreated the original manuscript over the years. Her daughter Ellen preserved that manuscript. Ellen has worked with Paul Madsen (husband of Lisa Hanson Madsen, the daughter of Boy and Kristine's daughter Helga) to salvage those files into usable text format.

Paul has obtained written permission from the appropriate publishing entity to reproduce this valuable text and make it broadly available to the family and the world.

However, bringing the book to market will require "production" from a publishing professional to make it fit into Amazon.com's distribution standards. This skill set is beyond Paul's scope, but he has worked with a publishing professional like this over the years while publishing his books.

Paul has negotiated a discounted fee of $2,750 to bring "Living Under Three Flags" to amazon.com via this publishing production house. Family and anyone else would be able to order it on Amazon.com forever!

This company is called www.conciergemarketing.com, and this fee is a significant discount from their usual charges. 100% of the fundraised amount would go to that firm and none to Paul's small publishing entity. Paul trusts this Omaha-based firm after dealing with them for over a decade. The owner's name is Lisa Pelto.

If you choose to participate in bringing this book to the public, the process would be this:

1. Select a donation level you are comfortable with and use your bank card to donate via this trustable website. The running total of donations is viewable on the gofundme.com campaign website, as are the donor identities.

2. When the target amount is reached, gofundme.com will transfer the donations to Paul's entity, growmedia.com. GoFundMe.com takes a small percentage of each donation for its services.

3. 100% of those fees will be paid to cover www.conciergemarketing's invoice for said publishing production services.

4. They'll do their magic, and it will be posted on Amazon.com for everyone to purchase (in time for Christmas!).

Every book sold via amazon.com's Kindle Direct Publishing needs a publishing "home." KDP must have it registered via an ISBN, and they need a "banking home" to pay any proceeds.

To execute this, Paul is offering his firm's services as that home (he has published five books). Boy's book would show "growmedia.com Omaha, Nebraska" as the publisher, which would be the only change from the original text.

All profits from the sale of "Living Under Three Flags" on Amazon.com will be transparently paid (quarterly) from growmedia.com TO the Jessen Foundation/Family Reunion fund or wherever directed.

So who is up for preserving this family's legacy? It would take just a few "significant donors" to complete this fundraiser and move the project forward. Or, it would take just a few dozen people to donate a smaller amount, and we could easily reach the fundraising goal. Are you in?

You are already part of the legacy...deepen your role in the story with your donation to make "Living Under Three Flags" available for anyone to purchase in perpetuity!
