REQUIEM - short film about grief and memory

Dear all,
my name is Merita and I am thrilled to announce that we are starting the shootings of "Requiem", which is partially inspired by the loss of my best friend.

About "Requiem"
Requiem is an exploration of grief, memory, and the fragility of human connection.
The story follows Liam, who survives a tragic car accident that takes the life of his girlfriend, Clara. When he wakes from a three-week coma, his memory of her has been erased by trauma.

This film was born from my own personal loss. On May 2, 2021, my best friend Claudia passed away in a dramatic car accident. She was radiant, pure, and always smiling—incapable of anger, even in the hardest situations. Losing her left me with a grief I never fully processed, and in creating Requiem, I realized I was externalizing my own pain in order to confront it.
Requiem is my attempt to reflect on the universal questions of grief: what remains of the people we love when memory fades, and how do we live with loss that is both visible and invisible?

Why This Film Matters
This film is deeply personal, but it is also universal. So many of us carry unresolved grief, the silence of loss, and the longing for someone we can no longer reach. Through Requiem, I want to create a space where others can recognize their own experiences in Liam’s story.
The film also touches on real social issues: the devastating consequences of car accidents, the trauma survivors carry, and the fragile nature of memory itself. It is a story for anyone who has loved and lost, and for those who know the invisible scars grief can leave behind.

Why We Need Your Support
We don’t have a big budget, we only have our passion, dedication and faith.
But to create this we need you.
Every contribution will go directly into making this film a reality.
Your support will help us cover:
Production Costs: actors, camera and lighting crew and permissions.
Post-Production: editing, sound design, and final mastering.
Music: the soundtracks will be specially composed in collaboration with the musician Frank Dodge and our sound designer Martino Pistolato, ensuring the emotional depth of the film resonates.
Distribution: so the film can reach festivals and wider audiences, becoming a voice for others who have experienced grief.
This project is already alive with passion: an incredible cast and crew have joined because they were deeply moved by the story. Seeing how many people have felt personally touched by this theme gives me hope that Requiem will resonate with audiences everywhere.

How You Can Help
By contributing, you are not just funding a film—you are helping to share a story that speaks to grief, memory, and love in its most vulnerable form.
No contribution is too small. Whether through financial support or simply by sharing this campaign, you are part of the journey. Together, we can make Requiem a real.

Thank you all,
all the best.
