Hi everyone! We are Ian Hopkins and Leila Hernández-Webster. We are Film Studies majors at Connecticut College. As senior film makers, we have collaborated on numerous projects to hone our craft in screenwriting, cinematography, directing, and producing. We have been very fortunate to have many of our past films be juried into festivals worldwide and we are here to introduce our final and most ambitious film project to date.

ABOUT THE FILM

Our upcoming film, Requiem in White, follows James, a musician who recently lost his fiancee to drug addiction, as he continues trying to rekindle his passion for music while struggling with his grief. As he navigates the challenges of addiction, loss, and yearning for love, James is challenged with making the choice between moving on and staying stuck in his past. His band, Three Queens and a Joker, once a source of joy, now feels like a painful echo of everything he’s lost. But through music, James tiptoes the line between pain and catharsis until he ultimately must choose between the past and the future.

This film is a heartfelt exploration of the mental and physical struggles that come with losing someone suddenly and tragically. It’s about the power of art to find meaning in the darkest times and the dangers of chasing what is already gone.
