On Monday, September 15th, our dad, a Vietnam Veteran, was in a devastating auto accident on Highway 62 in White City, Oregon, when a logging truck lost its load on top of his pickup. By nothing short of a miracle, he survived — though he suffered severe injuries, including the loss of his left arm. He is currently in critical condition in the ICU, fighting hard and showing the same strength and resilience he has always had. He is a maker, a builder, a doer, and loves fishing and we hope that he will be able to return to doing the things that bring him joy.
Our family is doing everything we can to be by his side during this critical time. We all live out of state, and in order to support him and each other, we need to take time off work and cover travel and lodging costs, which have already accrued significantly. This is more than we can handle alone, and that’s why we’re reaching out for help.
Your donation will go directly toward helping us stay with Dad for the foreseeable future while he recovers — covering basic living expenses, travel, and the time off work we need to be present for him. Any extra funds will go towards his lengthy recovery.
Our dad is the strongest man we know, and we are so grateful he’s still with us. Any amount, no matter how small, means so much to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping him in your prayers is just as appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Boyd Family
