REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPOR FOR HEAVY DUTY PRINTER AND PHOT

Dear Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen,

My name is Florence Shapiro Khimbi, and I am reaching out on behalf of Old Salawe Teachers’ Development Centre (TDC) in Rumphi, Malawi, to seek your generous financial support for our initiative to purchase a heavy-duty printer and photocopier for our TDC.

Old Salawe TDC is a key educational institution in Rumphi East Constituency under Senior Traditional Authority Chapinduka, having produced many successful individuals who contribute significantly to our country. However, we face considerable challenges regarding operational costs, particularly in acquiring printed materials essential for learning and conducting examinations. As our educational system transitions towards a paper-based examination delivery system, it has become increasingly important for us to have the necessary resources to facilitate this process effectively.

Currently, our TDC supports 10 schools, with students in standards five through eight participating in paper-based examinations. Additionally, we administer three levels of standardized examinations- regional, district, and zonal – all of which require substantial printing and photocopying. Our dedicated teaching staff works tirelessly to enhance the quality of education, but the ongoing costs associated with printing and photocopying materials, and transport costs to and from the nearest printing business centre pose a significant barrier, particularly as many parents struggle to contribute financially due to prevailing poverty in our communities.

To alleviate this burden, we firmly believe that acquiring our own heavy-duty printer and photocopier will greatly benefit our students and improve their performance in the Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) examinations. We anticipate that this investment will foster a more conducive learning environment and enable us to provide better educational resources.

We kindly request your support in this initiative, with an estimated budget of $5,000 (equivalent to Six Million Six Hundred and Fifty Malawi Kwacha). To ensure transparency, we will publicly acknowledge all contributions and provide a list of donors. Your support will play a crucial role in helping us uplift our community through education. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our students and help them reach their full potential.
