We're raising money to replace 2 first-floor windows that were installed in the 1960s, which replaced the original arch-top designs that dated back to the home's construction in 1878. This effort is part of a large-scale restoration that is already in progress on the interior and exterior of our home, the Albee House.
To date, we've exposed much of the original wood siding on the front of the building that was covered up in the 1960s. We've painted and repaired much of what's exposed, and plan to finish the front of the house in the summer of 2020 - but we need your help! A large-scale electrical project inside the home has also taken place during this time, and many of these projects are not grant-eligible, leaving it up to us to fund the vast majority of these repairs ourselves.
About the reproduction windows: To maintain the home's character, and to ensure longevity, we've chosen very sturdy, wood and aluminum-clad windows from Andersen Windows. Due to the size of the windows and the materials used, they are rather costly. But, we feel they are necessary to properly restore this Italianate beauty to its former glory!
