Hi friends.

It’s very difficult and emotional for me to do this, but I need to ask for help from the community I hold so dear and trust, the same community who came to my rescue within mere moments of this terrifying accident. The rain-drenched, curvy mountain roads of California were unkind to me at the very end of this year, and I lost control of my car, Wanda, on slick pavement. She rolled upside down a few times, and got completely wrecked. My puppy Cannelle and I are incredibly lucky that we were wearing our seatbelts and landed upright, only 5 feet from a plunge into a lake… We are safe and okay beyond this big scare, but have lost this precious vehicle that was so close to my heart after many wonderful travels and trips to see my long distance partners a few hours from home. California is hard and expensive to navigate by public transit, especially where I live in Davis the middle of farmlands. I am looking into getting another car, and due to the way grad studies paychecks drop out during the summer (no pay between July and November!), I’m currently quite low on floating finances I might use to get another vehicle I don’t like to ask for help in this way, but after enough close friends convincing me I should rely on those who wish to help, I’m trying. Anything, small or big, will be a huge help in getting me and my life back in order.
